Sometimes Karim Benzema's Body-Language Says So Much!
Another day in Los Angeles! The boys spent their time, according to the Real Madrid website, doing technical jumps and intensive ball-work.

Meanwhile, on the Bromantic front we have a familiar sight: Mesut fussing with his jersey, Mourinho looking at him bemusedly, Sami standing near-by and a helplessly jealous Karim Benzema -

I feel Karim's expression sums up so much about the Benzil phenomenon!

But never fear Benzil enthusiasts! The preseason is a time for setting the groundwork for things to come, and for starting healthy work-habits for the coming season. And Benzi has apparently taken this to heart -

Benzema: That's it. You're coming with me!
Sami: I don't remember Karim being this irritating last season.

Sami's read somewhere that Frenchmen make very good bromancers :p

Hehehe! I missed these Benzil moments so much. Maybe Karim is trying to protect him from Mou's critical eye. "No sitting on the job party-boy! Let's get you up and back out there!"

*___________* I'm so glad Sami and Mesut just picked up where they left off. They shouldn't be allowed to stop sharing personal space, it only leads to weird Mesut moments on fb and twitter and random party pics.

From your lips to God's ears :)

Been following your page for a couple of weeks now, silently gobbling up any news (and stifling my amusement at the Las Vegas vacation pics--oh, Bambi, those glasses ...), but since a new season's about to kick off, promising much Mesut goodness I decided to start actually leaving some posts behind. Just wanted to say thanks for this because after Germany's "shock" defeat against Italy, and the subsequent OMG-Özil-looks-so-sad-on-the-pitch-my-heart-is-breaking-WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! trauma, I suddenly found my daily quota of Özil severely lacking, so guess who's gonna be haunting this blog for some time ^_^

Now that that's out of the way ... Benzil ftw!! Samisut remains my absolute favourite, but gosh I just find Benzema's apparent fascination with Özil so darling. Maybe he figures since Sami's now engaged Özil's up for grabs. It's a shame I no longer write fanfiction because I would have had a field day with these three! XD

Re: An opening...
(Oooooh, you tempt me! Challenge accepted! My (half-assed) contribution ...)

[Insert obligatory emo title of your own choosing here]

Keeping my head down to shield my eyes from the blinding Californian sun, picking at the loose blades of grass on the heel of my new boots, I do not realize that Sami has fallen silent straight away. Sitting side by side on the ground, our sweaty backs pressed against the advertising board behind us, we've been wiling away the few remaining minutes of practice time by sharing vacation experiences. Lulled by the heat, I've been listening with half an ear to Sami's beach experience when something catches his attention, causing him to trail off before he can conclude the starfish anecdote. A shadow falls over us, blocking out the harsh sunlight, finally allowing me to look up to find Karim standing there. How he's managed to escape Cristiano and Pepe's double-teamed attempt at teaching him the dance steps of their latest goal celebration is an evasive manoeuvrings worthy of a Mourinho-approved embrace. Still adjusting his clothes from the experience, Karim smiles as he crouches down before us.
"Guten tag," he says, smile widening cheekily, having clearly practiced his pronunciation beforehand.
I cannot resist smiling back at the effort, but Sami's bent knee, which is resting against mine, gives a small jerk. He is eying Karim with a stony look, having given only the faintest of nod in greeting. On the field before us the practice session has (unsurprisingly) deteriorated into a raucous game of keep-away as Pepe makes off with Sergio's headband, much to the delight of the others, but between the three of us hangs an uncomfortable tension I've never before experienced in either of my friends' company.
"Thirsty?" Karim suddenly asks me pointedly, already straightening. He holds out a hand. "Too hot out here, no?"
Staring between the offered hand and Sami's unreadable face, I am not sure what I am to do. When we last saw each other everyone had been of friendly terms, jokingly threatening to beat one another at Euro 2012. Now it was as though Karim had just pledged eternal allegiance to Barcelona.
"Yeah," I finally say, if only to fill the silence. Sami makes a small, almost imperceptible sound and looks away. He pretends to be interested in the playful scuffle between Pepe and Sergio, but his jaw is locked, as though to prevent him from saying something regrettable. I try nudging his shoulder, but he refuses to turn.
"Mes," Karim says, giving a small impatient wag of the hand, eager to be anywhere but here right now. I push myself up onto my haunches, but am still hesitant to leave. I don't know what is going on, nor what Sami wants or expects of me.
"You want something too?" I ask him. He merely shrugs.
Karim reaches down and grabs my hand, hauling me to my feet. Throwing his arm across my shoulders, he leads me away from the sidelines, chatting as though the entire awkward encounter did not just happen. As we head inside I glance back one last time. Sami's watching us leave, his fists clenched on the ground. His eyes are drilling holes in the back of Karim's head, but when he catches me staring at him he collects himself, stands and makes his way towards the practice goal, where Iker has unwillingly been dragged into the Pepe vs Sergio fiasco and could do with some reinforcement as he swats at them with his keeper's gloves.

*Dum-dum-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM* To be continued ...

(Yup. Four years since I last wrote fanfic but I still got the angst in me. Oh, those good old days, when I was all teenage-y and full of melodrama! Really not my best work, but I confess I am a bit rusty in this department. And, yes, I know Sergio's cut his hair and no longer needs a headband, but it's after midnight here and I'm hopped up on Monster energy drink and entering my 39th hour of going without sleep--newborn kittens are a handful--and couldn't be arsed to think of a more original source of conflict XD)

Re: A continuation
"I mean, it's attention-seeking, all this going to Las Vegas, 'gangsta' signs in every photo, then he turns up at the Grand Canyon a couple of days after Lena and I had been there. Pathetic, utterly, pathetic. It's time he grew up and realized I have a girlfriend, a life - and I don't want to spend every minute playing babysitter to him."

Oh dear - the Samisut phenomenon. All in one sentence!

Reivencwazy_weiven on August 4th, 2012 06:27 am (UTC)
OMG my Beyblade-fanfic queen! As if you weren't amazing enough already, I discover that you're also a fan of flawless Mesut?

(I swear I'm not a stalker. I was just checking up on my daily dose of Mesutyness when I stumbled upon your username and I couldn't help but going the Ladya-sama? щ(゜ロ゜щ)

I'll go away now 8D
Ladya C. Maxineladya_sama on August 4th, 2012 08:39 am (UTC)
Oh noes! I've been discovered!! *slithers back under her rock* XD

Am also trawling such websites in order to get by daily dose of Mesutyness. You can never have too much of that. It's good for the body, you know. How can one possibly not be a fan of Bambi?? The boy's so adorable he's even made me, a hardline Dutchie, into a part-time Germany supporter. Hell, he's even made me, a person who never cared for club level football and only ever watched the sport every two years (World Cups and Euros), a Real Madrid fan. Now *THAT* is quite an accomplishment.

Stick around. The more fangirlism, the better :)
Reivencwazy_weiven on August 4th, 2012 01:03 pm (UTC)
You can never escape my brilliant deductive and tracking ability. I find people even when I'm not looking for them 8D

I used to trawl and scavenge various parts of the internet for my daily doses of Mesut, but then I discovered this LJ and it was like a godsend. It's like everything I want in a fansite AND MORE and then I find you here and it's makes the site everything I ever wanted and MORE AND THEN SOME.

I'm half Dutch and the Dutch side of my family views me as the blood-traitor. I've been supporting Germany since 2002 and it pretty much just started because I wanted to piss everyone off. But then I got to know the German team and discovered these two utterly fabulous people called Michael Ballack and Miroslav Klose and my heart, mind and soul were pretty much sold. But eventually I realized that the entire German team is made from 150 percent awesome and flaw free perfection, although Klose and Ballack still hold a special place in my heart (and I'm still pissed of about how the whole Ballack thing turned out ;A;).

But then one normal, unassuming day I was casually watching a match between Germany and England and I noticed this one German guy who was like 10 feet behind a English player OVERTAKE him on the pitch to get the ball AND LEAVES HIM IN THE DUST and assists Muller in Germany's 4-1 demolishing of England. This one German guy was Mesut and I was completely sold.

His speed is absolutely hypnotizing.

And like you, I only watched the Euros and the World Cup and didn't like Cristiano Ronaldo at all but then Mesut came into my life, introduced me to Real Madrid, Crozil and a slew of his other charming bromances and made me fall in love with everyone so much that I can't even be properly mad at the Spanish anymore for beating Germany. Hell I even know what off-side means now and THAT is an achievement.

lol the end.

I love watching the BBC post match reviews of the Germany games. The hosts are such Ozil fanboys it's a beautiful thing to behold.

The BBC Match of the Day broadcasts before, during and after the England game are so loltastic I never get sick of them.

In fact, I'm a huge fan of the person who uploaded them on Youtube.
Reivencwazy_weiven on August 6th, 2012 03:30 pm (UTC)
And the Argentina game. I even downloaded them to cherish and coo over at a later date.

Same. I'd write an ode or compose a beautiful ballad dedicated to the person if I had enough talent.

Maybe you want to post it somewhere and share the link here.

Great fanfic there. I'm hook!!

Benzil fics are seriously rare tho'. It'd be great if anyone could rec some since I could only find like one in the jungle (it's even unrequited!). Maybe with these photos, writers would get some ideas, lol.

It a LOL btw looking at pic no2, the trio Muslims look exhausted, are they fasting?
Jenny Jenkinsjenny_jenkins on August 1st, 2012 04:35 am (UTC)

Sami is not devout at all, nor is Benzema, and Mesut doesn't do Ramadan.

I love seeing their training pictures when they visit LA because they look like they're dying in the heat, when it's such a good temperature in LA. and dnw Benzil, Crozil will always be my favorite.

I like the idea of them training where I do during the summer because it gets up to 110-115 when we practice, and if they did train where I live then there would be no clothes during practice and it'd be awesome fun for all to see... it is a most excellent mental image, sans the whole possible dehydration part.
